Materials

Clear jar with at least 2¼ cup capacity

Bleach, ¾

cup

Blue, red, and green liquid food coloring

Water, 1½ cups

STD/STI Risk Exposure Poster (supplied with curriculum

Two identical sponges

Approximately one cup of potting soil or coffee grinds

Advance Preparation

Copy handouts two (2) for each student

Place soil or grinds in the container

Wet one sponge, just short of dripping

Add the water to the jar
